Show Notes

Way back in 1982, electronic artist Jon Krocker made the fantastic Monolog album, which was released locally on cassette.

Decades later, it found its way to the right ears and was reissued on vinyl by a U.S. label in 2018.

We talked about his experiences creating electronic sounds in those early days, the record being rediscovered and why it continues to resonate with listeners, and much more!

WR435: Clash Contrast

Local electronic artist [Clash Contrast](http://clashcontrast.bandcamp.com) has been on the scene since 2007, and her pursuit of electronica has taken her across the country and into some unexpected locations (like recording an album at the library!) We talk about her influences in trip-hop, drum n' bass, jungle, chillwave, electro-pop and more, and I fill in some much-needed gaps in my (admittedly lacking) knowledge of the electronic community. Unfortunately (my bad), a chunk of this conversation was lost because I didn't check how much space was left on my memory card, but the bulk of the interview is there, and I think it's a good one. WR022: Johnny Perrin

This week, the fellas were joined by the one and only John Draper Perrin IV, who stopped by the basement to discuss the "thief" topic. You may know Johnny from his involvement in such local bands as Grandpa's Army, the Brat Attack, TBA, Den of Iniquity, and most recently, Up 'n Atom. Despite being a last-minute guest, Johnny's appearance was actually one of our better episodes, with some legitimately interesting discussion about the recording process (who knew?) We also watched "Hockey's Hardest Hitters" on VHS from 1992 (on mute) while recording the show, which becomes obvious partway through the program. Lots of fun this week. ...

WR588: Primordial Serpent

Geoff Coran is the artist behind one-man black metal project [Primordial Serpent](http://primordialserpent.bandcamp.com/) — who also records dungeon synth under the [Kalameet](http://kalameet1.bandcamp.com/) moniker. We talked about the deadly new ['Ancient Myths and Legends'](http://primordialserpent.bandcamp.com/album/ancient-myths-and-legends) record, the appeal of Norse mythology and fantasy books, corpse paint, cassette culture, video games, and much more!
