Show Notes

Winnipeg rapper/poet/mentor/administrator/multi-hyphenate Nestor Wynrush is back on the show to talk about an ambitious new live mixtape project, taking place Sept. 16 at the West End Cultural Centre!

The project, in collaboration with Wall to Wall Mural and Culture Festival and organizations including the Winnipeg Art Gallery, includes intergenerational collaborations between established and emerging local artists.

Really insightful conversation. This episode also features music by artists connected to the event (selected by Ness), including Anthony OKS, Super Duty Tough Work, JayWood, and Bluebloods.

Want to hear more of Ness? He's on the following episodes as a guest: #019 (April 2013), #036 (Aug. 2013), #042 (Sept. 2013), #150 (Oct. 2015), #287 (May 2018). He hosted on #101 (Nov. 2014),  #167 (Feb. 2016), and there's probably more I'm forgetting about.

This episode brought to you by our pals at Devine Shirt Company, who have brand new Witchpolice merch in the works! Watch for that!

WR388: Chris Micheal

Singer-songwriter [Chris Micheal](http://www.facebook.com/chrismichealmusic) may be new to country music, but he's definitely not new to the Winnipeg music scene. Chris has spent years fronting rockers [Jekyll & the Hydes](http://www.facebook.com/JekyllandtheHydes/), and is now splitting his time between that band and his new, solo country project. We talk about being authentic to his own sound, and how he’s going to be that 80-year-old still performing at the bar whether anyone is showing up to listen or not! This episode brought to you by our pals at [The Park Theatre](http://myparktheatre.com/)! A HUGE thanks goes out to everyone who has [supported the fundraiser](http://www.gofundme.com/witchpolice-radio-improvement-fund). I’ve been raising $ to upgrade to better-quality recording gear, and the response has been phenomenal. Your support is greatly appreciated! ...

The mighty [Vagina Witchcraft](http://vaginawitchcraft.bandcamp.com/) are back on the show (all four of them this time)! We talked all about their deadly debut album of hardcore-tinged doom metal -- which absolutely belongs in the 'record of the year' conversation -- some of the feedback they’ve received about its overt themes, the emotional catharsis of performing live, and much more. This episode brought to you by [Rob Crooks](http://robcrooks.bandcamp.com/), whose outstanding new album, Introducing the Ghost, is out now from [Saskatoon Folk Rap Records](http://saskatoonfolkraprecords.bandcamp.com/)!
