On Sept. 27, we pulled out all the stops for our first-ever (and hopefully first of many) live onstage podcast. The show, celebrating our milestone 150th episode, featured interviews and live performances with old friends and collaborators Rob Crooks, Nestor Wynrush, Country Steve and first-time guest Mona Mousa. Although the turnout wasn't record-breaking, the crowd more than made up for it in volume and enthusiasm. We certainly hustled to get the word out about this event, with coverage from local newspapers The Metro, The Uniter and a number of campus radio interviews leading up to the big night. Huge thanks to everyone who came out and supported. It was a blast. We can't wait to do more live and direct events in future! ...
It's the 400th episode of Witchpolice Radio, which means it's OF COURSE the one where I've lost my voice and am wheezing out my questions. Thankfully, the guest on this episode, [Joe Boy Rock](http://joeboyrock.bandcamp.com/releases) of local hip-hop duo [Machina II](http://soundcloud.com/machinaii/), has a lot of insightful things to say about the local music scene, rap, DIY, and a lot more. This episode is brought to you by [Howl at the Moon](http://howlatthemoonfest.com/), Manitoba’s newest and most exciting country music festival, July 25-27, and by our pals at [The Park Theatre](http://myparktheatre.com/). Don’t forget to support our friends at [Dub Ditch Picnic](http://dubditchpicnic.bandcamp.com/), who are trying to clear out as much stock as possible to [cover some medical costs](http://www.facebook.com/crizwell/posts/10156105481525636). ...
It's a doughnut shop hangout with Morden country singer [Brian Jacobs](http://brianjacobsmusic.ca/)! Fun conversation about authenticity, trying to break into the Winnipeg music scene as an outsider, being the “old guy” among a bunch of younger artists, his newly-released album... and much more!
