Show Notes

This is the first (of many?) "Quick Hits" episode -- a compilation of micro-interviews with four artists. It's a fun way for the podcast to expand its scope a bit and talk to a wider range of guests. This episode features: - [Orvis Thomas](http://orvis.bandcamp.com/) (The Bloodshots) talking about his new solo [jazz/country single](http://orvis.bandcamp.com/track/only-your-love-2) - [Animal Aesthetic](http://animalaesthetic.bandcamp.com/), the solo project by drummer (TUSK, The Gerry Hatricks) Eric Jaworksi - Friendlyness of roots reggae band [The Human Rights](http://thehumanrights.bandcamp.com/), whose [new single](http://thehumanrights.bandcamp.com/track/peace-gun) is out in advance of their third LP - Chris Olson of easycore outfit [Epirus](http://epirus.bandcamp.com/), who have a new two-song EP in the works This episode brought to you by our pals at [Devine Shirt Company](http://devineshirtcompany.ca/). Huge thanks to everyone who supports the podcast on [Patreon](http://www.patreon.com/witchpolice). You can help out for as little as $1 a month if you like the show and want to throw some change in the guitar case! You can also throw a one-time tip via [Buymeacoffee](http://www.buymeacoffee.com/witchpolice). As always, if you like the podcast, please tell a friend or 20! Rate and review on your podcast player of choice! Word of mouth is still the main way Witchpolice Radio reaches new ears. Thanks for listening!

WR480: SeanGeek

I linked up with the McGinity brothers from Winnipeg's [SeanGeek Podcast](http://seanmcginity.ca/) for an episode! We talked about their long-running show, their background in the local music scene (I was initially supposed to interview them years ago about their band [Dome](http://seanmcginity.ca/dome-band), but the band broke up before the podcast happened), hate mail, and a whole lot more! If this is your first episode of Witchpolice Radio... please note that we don't usually get so 'inside baseball' about podcasting -- but this is a fun interview that covers that as well as their involvement in Winnipeg music. This episode is brought to you by our friends at [the Park Theatre](http://www.myparktheatre.com/), and by [Trevor Fisher](http://www.linkedin.com/in/fishertrevor) of Way2Wealth Management. Huge thanks to everyone who supports the podcast on [Patreon](http://www.patreon.com/witchpolice). WR369: Proper Operation

I recorded an interview with Winnipeg (via Portage la Prairie) alt-rock/punk outfit [Proper Operation](http://properoperation.bandcamp.com/) last summer, but for various reasons, it was never formally released. They're back on the show (and this one is actually out now in podcast form) and we talk about their demo EP, the continued appeal of '90s grunge, playing without a bassist, and much more. Note: I wish the O.G. episode HAD worked out, because while the content of the conversation is just fine on this one, the recording isn't the greatest. They're all soft-spoken guys, and at times it can be difficult to hear what they're saying. This episode brought to you by our pals at [The Park Theatre](http://myparktheatre.com/)! Thanks to everyone who has supported the podcast thus far. Thanks to supporters like you, we can keep churning out interviews twice a week! If you like the show, please head down to [patreon.com/witchpolice](http://www.patreon.com/witchpolice) and for as little as a $1 month (less than 12 cents an episode), you can help keep the lights on! ...

WR094: Royal Canoe

Coming off a 2014 Juno nomination for their critically-acclaimed _Today We’re Believers_ record and a jam-packed, festival-heavy summer of touring, Winnipeg’s **[Royal Canoe](http://www.royalcanoe.com/believers/)** are headed back out on the road before hunkering down and working on a follow-up. The group’s rhythm section — our pals **Brendan Berg **and **Derek Allard** — stopped by the basement to reminisce about old times, share road stories, and get passionate about their hometown. ...
