Witchpolice Radio continues in guest mode with this week's instalment, featuring none other than Mas Steve in Jon's usual spot. Rob Crooks is back from Europe, too, and the three of us put our heads together to create a pretty grim episode of the show. When the theme is "traumatic," it's not like there's much of a choice. Steve played a new original song at the end of the show, "Lowdown Manitoba Blues." ...
Cosmic balladeer [Mister K](http://www.heyheymisterk.com/) is back on the show, making his first appearance in a number of years, and his first with his current musical identity and sound. We talked about the gradual transition away from his previous [Kevin Roy](http://witchpolice.com/e/wr210-kevin-roy-34d1d44229a9a6/) persona, making music that’s true to himself, his upcoming record, documenting foxes, and much more! This episode brought to you by [Rob Crooks](http://robcrooks.bandcamp.com/) and [Saskatoon Folk Rap Records](http://saskatoonfolkraprecords.bandcamp.com/), as well as [Devine Shirt Company](http://devineshirtcompany.ca/)! As many of you know, I like to host intimate little house shows in my back yard each summer. This episode of the podcast is the recording of one of the sets from our most recent back yard gig. This is a set by the show's headliner, Australian avant-cellist [Rob Knaggs](http://www.robknaggs.com/). Rob was back in Manitoba for the first time in quite a while (hear him talk about going home to Oz on a [previous interview](http://witchpolice.podiant.co/e/36da6f44a8cef6/) podcast), and he played a deadly set in the light of day – just Rob on the deck with the cello and no visuals. As mentioned in the intro, Rob's set was considerably louder than the others I recorded that afternoon, so there's a bit of clipping at times, but it doesn't take away from the Arctic-inspired beauty of his compositions. This episode is brought to you by Osborne Village’s new pop-up record store, [Old Gold Vintage Vinyl](http://www.instagram.com/oldgoldvintagevinyl204/), and by our friends at [The Park Theatre](http://myparktheatre.com/). It's also brought to you by Polish-Canadian electronic outfit [Hypernashion](http://www.facebook.com/Hypernashion-Band-116231005088/) and the whole [Hyper Recordz](http://www.hyperrecordz.com/) family. Be sure to check out the [new Hypernashion single](http://youtu.be/pjsBFU7O5EI) (feat. 5imon5ez and Joe Silva). You'll also want to check out a [show Sept. 6 at the Cavern](http://www.facebook.com/events/405665890061421/), featuring a trio of past guests on the podcast – [Joe Curtis Band](http://witchpolice.podiant.co/e/368d6cb7dccec0/), [Paige Drobot](http://witchpolice.podiant.co/e/37461d930714ac/), and [Heartsleeve](http://witchpolice.podiant.co/e/3790b3f76eba1e/). It's hard to think of a better or more eclectic lineup. Finally, shoutout to Jesse Waters-Wolfe, the latest contributor to our [Patreon page](http://www.patreon.com/witchpolice). I don't push the Patreon hard, but it's there if you feel like the digital equivalent of throwing a tip in our guitar case. Thanks to everyone who has ever supported the podcast, financially or otherwise. ...
