Show Notes

It's a conversation about soul, folk, boisterous lyrics and much more with three core members of musical collective [House Handshake](http://www.facebook.com/househandshake/). We talk about their circuitous, bi-provincial route to becoming a band, their elaborately planned-out recording and release plans, and everything else under the sun. This episode brought to you by our friends at the [Park Theatre](http://myparktheatre.com/), who recently hosted the inaugural Manitoba Podcast Festival. Huge thank you to everyone who participated, watched from the audience, or introduced themselves and their own podcasts to us in the intermission. Thanks to everyone who has supported the podcast thus far. Thanks to supporters like you, we can keep churning out interviews twice a week! WR386: Forest Pilots

It's a conversation with two members of local progressive-rock power trio [Forest Pilots](http://www.facebook.com/ForestPilotsMusic/) about their sound, their plans for the future, the way "prog" is a loaded term... and just what *is* a 'Forest Pilot', anyway? Fun chat with a new(ish) local band that has been generating a lot of buzz. These guys were recommended to me by a number of past guests and social media followers. This episode brought to you by our pals at [The Park Theatre](http://myparktheatre.com/)! A HUGE thanks goes out to everyone who has [supported the fundraiser](http://www.gofundme.com/witchpolice-radio-improvement-fund) so far. I’m raising $ to upgrade to better-quality recording gear, and the response has been phenomenal. Your support is greatly appreciated! ...

Fun chat with a band making waves both inside and outside the city limits. This episode brought to you by Devine Shirt Company and the Beer Boutique! Don’t forget to check out some socially-distanced shows at [the Park Theatre](http://www.myparktheatre.com/), who have slowly reopened after a long COVID-19 closure. WR206: The Big MIx-Up 3 live at The Park Theatre

We're back with another edition of our ridiculous live improvised music show, the Big Mix-Up! The third installment took place Oct. 30 at Winnipeg's historic Park Theatre. The premise of the show remains the same: Winnipeg musicians from across a wide spectrum of genres come together and form randomized 'bands' to perform improvised music on stage. The genres and themes of their songs are based on audience suggestions. Mix-Up 3 may not have had a massive turnout (due to it being the tail-end of the Halloween weekend), but it did feature a powerhouse performance from musicians Harley James Flett, Joel Klaverkamp, Jesse Bercier, Trevor Graumann, Jill Alexander, Seamus Hamilton-Pattison, Drew Diduke, Alexis Flower, Paul Durrant, Maclean Thiessen and Lasha Mowchun. ...
