Show Notes

[Lounge FM](http://www.facebook.com/Loungefmmusic/)'s [*Love Will Let You Down*](http://loungefm.bandcamp.com/album/love-will-let-you-down) is one of the coolest local records of the year -- a slow-burning, psychedelic blend of R&B, jazz, soul and more. We sat down with three members of the group to talk about their rural roots, finding a place in Winnipeg's scene for their "Friday night bath music", and much more. Thanks to everyone who has supported the podcast thus far. Thanks to our supporters, we can keep churning out interviews twice a week! WR445: ATLAAS

This episode is my interview with frontwoman Heather Thomas of Winnipeg's [ATLAAS](http://www.atlaasmusic.com/), all about R&B, synth-pop, music as catharsis, emerging from a bedroom cocoon and releasing songs into the world, and much more! As you may have noticed, this episode is a day late (sorry!), but I fully intend to put out some kind of content on a regular schedule throughout the holiday season before we get into 2020 and schedules become a bit less bananas. This episode is brought to you by our pals at [the Park Theatre](http://www.myparktheatre.com/), as well as the [Beer Boutique](http:/www.facebook.com/beerboutiquewpg/), managed by Winnipeg punk mainstay StevO Nelson. It’s also brought to you by [Trevor Fisher](http://www.linkedin.com/in/fishertrevor) of Way2Wealth Management, a local Certified Financial Planner who can help you start planning your financial independence. WR045: Big Flaming Pile

This week, it's a Sam solo-host job, with three guests: the brain-wizards behind DIY t-shirt manufacturers/filmmakers Big Flaming Pile.   In a rare remote show, this time from BFP Headquarters in Winnipeg's West End, the trio of Derek Heaman, Alex McPhaden and Brian Griffith talk band merch, rural metal shows and this week's randomly-generated theme word: polar. These guys are best known today for their merch biz (highly recommended), but they started out doing no-budget filmmaking way back in the 1990s, including such gems as Cop Fiction. For the past 10 years or so, they've been moonlighting in the rarely-performing punk rock group the Damn Dirty Apes, whose 2004 debut Mixed Ape can be downloaded from Witchpolice. They also performed live at the end of this episode. ...

WR163: Polish Music Exchange

This week, we're talking about the fourth edition of the Polish Music Exchange, a semi-annual 'celebration of popular and contemporary music with an Eastern European twist'! To promote the event, we hung out once again with Arturo of Polish-Canadian dub wizards Hypernashion alongside Unkl Elephant's Maclean, who represented the non-Polish (or "exchange") part of the upcoming gig. ...
