Show Notes

Here's a very insightful conversation with Cortex and Joe Boy Rock of local rap duo Machina II (last heard on the podcast in 2019)!

We talked about the importance of lyricism, friendly competition, reintroducing themselves to Winnipeg audiences, their two new singles, and much more!

WR343: The Inflatable Band

[The Inflatable Band](http://www.facebook.com/theinflatableband) plays exactly the type of music I like – loose, chaotic, and unexpectedly moving. After hearing their [excellent album](http://theinflatableband.bandcamp.com) earlier this year, I got the chance to see the noise-pop madness live and direct when we recorded this interview. Hear three extended live performances (one of which was improvised on the spot) on this episode! This episode is brought to you by our friends at [the Park Theatre](http://myparktheatre.com/). Thanks to everyone who has supported the podcast thus far. Thanks to supporters like you, we can keep churning out interviews twice a week! WR384: Railroad Tye

If you look up 'authenticity' in the dictionary, you might find [Railroad Tye](http://soundcloud.com/railroad-tye)'s photo. The hard-living, road-weary singer-songwriter literally lives in a van and plays heartfelt, honest folk songs that he considers to be a form of therapy. Railroad Tie has a big [album release show](http://www.facebook.com/events/2235652870034673/) at the end of the month, and it's the only way you can get his recordings, so get yerself down there! WR008: Dave Halcrow

Jon couldn't make it to the recording session, so he was temporarily replaced by Mr. Dave Halcrow, of local bands like The Brat Attack and Talk City (who had one song on the Be Our Friend compilation, but I'm hoping to get more of their music on here.) Dave was a good substitute, and played stuff that neither Rob nor I would have otherwise listened to, so it was cool. Expect more guest hosts in future, as our schedules are such that getting all three of us in a room at the same time isn't always a given. Rob is going to Europe soon, so we'll have some fill-in hosts while he's gone as well. ...
