Show Notes

[Kelly Fraser](http://www.kellyfrasermusic.com/) is a Winnipeg singer-songwriter, by way of Sanikiluaq, Nunavut. She's a Juno-nominated artist and a genuine star in her home territory. With her upcoming record, "Decolonize", Kelly is set to bring her unique blend of English and Inuktitut vocals, socially and politically conscious lyrics, and infectious pop- and hip-hop-inspired sound to take over the rest of Canada as well. This episode is brought to you by our friends at [the Park Theatre](http://myparktheatre.com) and by [Demedash Effects](http://www.demedasheffects.com/), a local company that makes hand-made guitar effect pedals like the glorious T-120 Videotape Echo. When we released our most recent Big Mix-Up episode (#3 in the series so far!), a lot of listeners had the same question: who was the girl with the huge voice? It's not unreasonable to ask. The owner of that voice, soul/R&B/hip-hop/gospel powerhouse Jill Alexander, is a relative newcomer to the local music scene, which she's hoping to take over by storm. We sat down with Jill to talk about her musical background, the new releases she has in the works with Thunder Bay-based BME Studios Canada, the use of her music to reach out to people suffering from PTSD, and much more. ...
