Show Notes

They're back! Our friends in Winnipeg supergroup [Agapito](https://agapito.bandcamp.com/releases) have been busy since their last appearance on the show [(Dec. 2016)](https://witchpolice.podiant.co/e/34d1d3f7db8214/). Most notably, they hit the studio and released a three-song, self-titled demo. We talk about all kinds of nonsense, but on-topic, we get into the recording and songwriting processes, the future of the band, and the difficulties that arise with a band made up (mostly) of people who play in other bands. Hunk rock!

WR214: Dwayne's Punk Phoners

Music photographer/blogger Dwayne Larson was all over Witchpolice in 2016. Starting with an appearance on the show as a guest in the spring, he returned as part of our photography panel show at the Handsome Daughter in the fall. He wasn't only a guest, though. Dwayne conducted interviews with a number of out-of-town and touring acts (Chixdiggit, Limblifter, Safe to Say, Son of Dave) for his It's A Music Thing website throughout the year, and he was kind enough to share the audio of those interviews for use on the podcast as well . Some of those interviews, due to episodes that were more time-sensitive, etc., didn't see the light of day on Witchpolice Radio... until now. Here's a compilation of short conversations Dwayne had with members of iconic '90s punks Face to Face, Canadian psychobillies the Creepshow, and up-and-coming New Orleans hardcore band Pears. All three were in Winnipeg at various times during the latter part of the year. ...

WR025: Allan Lorde

This week: we talk with graphic designer extraordinaire Allan Lorde about paranoia. This is probably the most rap-heavy episode we've done so far, but Al provided solid bookends at the beginning and end of the show with some filthy garage mayhem. It's a rambler of an episode, though. Right from the get-go, we start talking completely off-topic and eventually meander our way back on point. Although most of our guests are local musicians, Mr. Lorde's longtime involvement with the local scene from the visual art side of things definitely fits in with Witchpolice's unofficial "we promote cool shit cool people are doing" mode. If you live in Winnipeg, you've seen this man's art. Seriously. It's been on a pole or a bulletin board near you at one point or another. ...
