Show Notes

Before they skipped town to continue on their western Canada tour, we hopped in a van with pan-Canadian supergroup Julie and the Wrong Guys to talk about the logistics of touring with a side project, their new 7" and upcoming full-length, and much more! The group consists of solo artists Julie Doiron (yes, that Julie Doiron) and Eamon McGrath, plus the rhythm section of Toronto heavy-hitters Cancer Bats: Jaye R. Schwarzer and Winnipegger Mike Peters.

WR376: Paige Drobot

Pop/psychedelic/progressive... [Paige Drobot](http://paigedrobot.bandcamp.com/)'s sound is hard to define, but it draws from a number of (coincidentally alliterative) genres – all of which are on display on her upcoming solo EP, Zero Thought. We talk about the record, teaching guitar, being weird, gravitating toward the avant-garde, and much more. There also may have been a drug deal going down while we recorded this in a parking lot. Oh, and you can also hear Paige's cover of a Johnny Sizzle (!) tune on this episode. This episode brought to you by our pals at [Transistor 66 Record Co.](http://www.transistor66.com/paigedrobot) and The [Park Theatre](http://myparktheatre.com/)! WR011: Tim Haverluck

Since Rob Crooks is still in Europe, we brought in another guest host this week -- Tim Haverluck of local bands The Stabs, the Smash Brothers, the Red River Ramblers, and awesome back-in-the-day punk bands like Kirby and Gherkin. In a first for this program, Tim performed a live song at the end of the show. It was meant to illustrate a particular guitar style he was talking about, but I really like how it turned out, and I'm going to encourage all of our future guests (assuming they're muscial) to do the same. This show, somehow, also marks the first time we've ever played a local band on-air, as KEN mode's "The Hammer Party" fit the theme. And yes, Tim, that's "KEN mode," not "Keb Mo'." ...
