Show Notes

This week, Sam drops in on **[None the Wiser](http://www.nonethewiser.ca/)** singer/guitarist **Eli Matas** to drink non-alcoholic beers, talk “intensity” songs and more! None the Wiser is a folk/funk/psychedelic/rock/party machine with well over a decade of history and a new release called _[Smoke and Mirrors](http://www.nonethewiser.ca/#!music/c21jp) _ (which has glorious cover art, by the way). If you're listening to this on the day it's released, these guys are also playing _tonight_ at Ozzy's in Winnipeg as part of New Music Wednesdays. Check 'em out!

This sprawling interview with Kris (vocals/guitar), Tabitha (keyboard) and Lindsey (guitar)covers the changes in their look and sound since their last (2014) appearance on the show, as well as much, much more. Since the new Gold Mountain has yet to record, the songs on this episode are from their previous EP and frontman [Kris Rendina](http://krizrendina.bandcamp.com/)'s solo work. WR402: Lana Winterhalt Live From the Back Yard

As many of you know, I like to host intimate little house shows in my back yard each summer. This episode of the podcast is the recording of one of the sets from our most recent back yard gig, which happened this past Saturday. Singer-songwriter [Lana Winterhalt](http://www.lanawinterhalt.com/) released one of my favourite albums of 2018, and in this live set, she shows that her songs are equally as powerful when stripped down to just an acoustic guitar and a vocal FX pedal. I'll be releasing each of these live sets (most likely) as every second episode over the next few weeks, so stay tuned for performances by Two Crows for Comfort, Sarau Carioca, and Rob Knaggs as well, alternating with the regular Witchpolice interviews. This episode is brought to you by [Howl at the Moon](http://howlatthemoonfest.com/), Manitoba’s newest and most exciting country music festival, by Osborne Village's new pop-up record store, [Old Gold Vintage Vinyl](http://www.instagram.com/oldgoldvintagevinyl204/),and by our pals at [The Park Theatre](http://myparktheatre.com/). ...

WR315: Big Foot Yeti

This episode was actually scheduled to be released much later, but all the stars aligned (or something) and you're getting it now! ...but rejoice, friends! It's an interview with up-and-coming alt/indie-rock trio [Big Foot Yeti](http://www.facebook.com/BFYWPG/) (the space is intentional)! Thanks to everyone who has supported the podcast thus far. Thanks to supporters like you, we can keep churning out interviews twice a week! If you like the show, please head down to [patreon.com/witchpolice](http://www.patreon.com/witchpolice), and for as little as $1 a month (less than 12 cents an episode), you can help keep the lights on! This episode is brought to you by our friends at the Park Theatre, who have a whole calendar of great upcoming shows. Check it out on their website for more details! ...and speaking of the Park, be sure to check out the inaugural [Manitoba Podcast Festival](http://www.facebook.com/events/2188824571388548/), happening there Sept. 30! ...
