Show Notes

Here's the latest episode of the Witchpolice Radio podcast. This week's theme was "Drugs," which proved to be a little difficult, since it's such a prevalent topic in music. It wasn't hard to find songs, it was hard to choose the best ones to play. As usual, there's a short (one-hour) version as well as a longer, more rambling version, but the extended one gives you more discussion about straight-edge, hating the Red Hot Chili Peppers, the ethics of eating meat, television and other off-topic turns. I think this is one of our better podcasts to date, just in the music selection alone, but you can be the judge of that.

WR513: Voyageuse

This episode features a chat with ‘punk noir’ duo [Voyageuse](http://www.instagram.com/voyageusevoyageusevoyageuse/), made up of Matt Powers ([Vampires](http://vampiresband.bandcamp.com/)) and Dana Moore ([Gt. Dane](http://gtdane.bandcamp.com/)). We talked about the level of individual responsibility each member of a two-piece band has on the overall sound, about going four months without rehearsing (due to the pandemic), and more! There's a bunch of controversy that has been stirring around this episode, so just check out the disclaimer in the intro. You won't hear any ads on this one, because I didn't want to inadvertently rope anyone else into the drama. Also, kind of hilariously, you hear crickets in the background throughout the episode, because it was recorded remotely and they were outside the city. That also contributes to the sketchiness (at times) of the audio connection, but it's still listenable. Huge thanks to everyone who supports the podcast on [Patreon](http://www.patreon.com/witchpolice). You can help out for as little as $1 a month if you like the show and want to throw some change in the guitar case! ...

WR304: Sophie Stevens

I had the chance to interview relentlessly positive singer-songwriter [Sophie Stevens](http://www.facebook.com/spidersluggos/) earlier this year. It was during an [episode of Mom's House I hosted](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A7At5bMBWZM&t=756s), where she was backing up Micah Erenberg on guitar and vocals. Unfortunately, at the time I didn't know anything about her own music, so I felt it was important we reconnect and do an exclusive Sophie episode (Sophiesclusive?) of the podcast. We hung out at a Robin's Donuts (of course) and talked about her work with Micah, developing her own sound and stepping into the scene as a solo artist, her weekly [YouTube performances](http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCfhYm5AAvyRN-hyzATiMftA) (an uplifting experience unto itself) and much, much more. Thanks to everyone who has supported the podcast thus far. Thanks to our supporters, we can keep churning out interviews twice a week! If you like the show, please head down to [patreon.com/witchpolice](http://www.patreon.com/witchpolice), and for as little as $1 a month, you can help keep the lights on! This episode is brought to you by our friends at the [Park Theatre](http://www.myparktheatre.com/), who have a whole calendar of great upcoming shows.
